Security and Stability updates –  v19.08.10 MA

Updating Device42 to version 19.08.10

Upgrading to 19.08.10 is possible from 19.05.10 or above. If you need to first upgrade to Version 19.05.10, please see those release notes for details. A link will also be provided when requesting an upgrade. We recommend making a backup of your system before any upgrades.

The 19.08.10 MA release contains the following features:

Business Service Enhancements

It is now possible to link business services to other related business services within the business service editor. 

Application component templates can now be associated with software components

Improved IIS application modeling and connection creation 

on servers with multiple w3wp processes 

Improved agent based Application component updates from a template

Enrichment Service Enhancements

Enrich will now upload more records for enrichment, the accuracy threshold for which software is enriched was too high. This will lead to significantly more software records being enriched over time. 

Security updates

Across many aspects of Device42 security has been enhanced. Including updating core OS dependencies, used libraries and appliance configuration.

Minor UX enhancements and usability improvements

The following enhancements have been added to Device42:

  • D42-44980 – Software calculations now calculate unmanaged or prohibited software in addition to managed software, ignored items are not calculated
  • D42-42287 – Fixed an issue with some devices missing power and environmental monitoring data
  • D42-40534 – Added Mac addresses as netport objects on devices
  • D42-44515 – The mac agent can now gather logged in user information
  • D42-44202 – Increased the character limit for customer names to 256
  • D42-39038 – Added tags and better logging to SaaS discoveries
  • D42-37739 – Added permanent and loaner usage types to devices, assets and part models
  • D42-37682 – Added Asset Impact field to Devices, Resources, Business Services, and Assets
  • D42-37556 – Added Asset State field to Devices, Assets and Resources
  • D42-45061 – Improved the performance of the software in use page
