Release Notes v19.11 – MA

Release Overview

Updating Device42 to version 19.11.00

Upgrading to 19.11.00 is only possible from 19.05.10 or above. If you need to first upgrade to Version 19.05.10, please see those release notes for details. A link will also be provided when requesting an upgrade. We recommend making a backup of your system before any upgrades.

The 19.11.00 MA release contains the following features:

Application Dependency mapping Enhancements

  • D42-46085
    • Improved SQL Server cluster identification and expansion rules for displaying on the application layout
    • Fixed the visualization when adding two application groups into a single Business Service 

Reporting Enhancements

  • D42-60951 – Removed the 10,000 row restriction when filtering and exporting DOQL Standard Reports on the Display on Screen page
  • D42-46276 – Added a Live Preview toggle and query execution control to the Display on Screen view
  • D42-45114 – Added a calculated “Days Undetected” field to the Software Installation DOQL view and list view, enabling more accurate auto-cleaning of software and services
  • D42-60798 – Fixed an issue where some DOQL syntax was not being validated in Standard Reports
  • D42-61612 – Fixed sync failures that could occur following the introduction of enhanced DOQL validation
  • D42-61919 – Fixed an issue where DOQL queries could fail with the error “function not permitted: normalize_resource_details” 

Discovery Scheduling, Automation and Notifications

  • D42-37510 – Added Blackout Scheduling Windows, allowing you to define periods when discovery jobs will not run
  • D42-62406 – Blackout Window time settings now align with the settings in Tools > Time Settings
  • D42-39162 – Added an out-of-the-box automation rule for Software Installations
  • D42-39163 – Added an out-of-the-box automation rule for Software Models
  • D42-39165 – Added an out-of-the-box automation rule for Operating System Models
  • D42-35330 – Added support for OAuth2 token-based authorization for Office 365 mail server settings

Security updates

Across many aspects of Device42 security has been enhanced. Including updating core OS dependencies and libraries and in product protections.

  • D42-61735 – Updated the Remote Collector kernel to remediate CVE-2026-64600
  • D42-60977 – Updated OpenSSH packages to remediate a reported vulnerability
  • D42-61147 – Restricted exposure of the Django REST Framework browsable API interface
  • D42-61146 – Added additional validation to archive processing in the system restore endpoint
  • D42-61132 – Added additional validation to SNMP MIB file upload and processing parameters
  • D42-46566 – Removed the use of a hard-coded cryptographic key
  • D42-47215 – The passphrase is now masked in the Appliance Manager during a restore

UX enhancements and usability improvements

The following enhancements have been added to Device42:

  • D42-47448 – Added lazy loading and a pop-out view for the Customer field
  • D42-47447 – Excel imports now categorize partial failures in the import status
  • D42-48348 – Fixed a bug where usage metrics could not be disabled in an air gapped environment
  • D42-62112 – Improved error messages to provide more specific details instead of a generic “Authentication Failure”
  • D42-61221 – Fixed several issues with the Korean localization
  • D42-61698 – Fixed an issue where deleting a contract from the device page removed the entire PO line item
  • D42-60656 – Fixed an issue where lifecycle events may not be visible when RBAC is enabled
  • D42-62005 – Fixed an issue where a database migration could get stuck during upgrade

  • D42-38799 – Enhanced *nix discovery to support the Discover Remote File Systems job parameter
  • D42-40603 – Azure cloud discovery now maps private IPs to native Device42 IP objects
  • D42-61600 – Added discovery of the PostgreSQL version for Azure Flexible Servers
  • D42-49707 – Enhanced Pure Storage array discovery to support Pure API 2.X
  • D42-48015 – The user_id and user_display_name fields are now reset in Device42 when they are reset in Intune
  • D42-60869 – Added support for new Enlogic PDUs
  • D42-48341 – Added SNMP support for Accton switches
  • D42-47207 – Added SNMP support for Infinera DTN devices
  • D42-47204 – Added SNMP support for Infinera mTC-9 devices

  • D42-60940 – Fixed “Too Many Requests” and paging errors in Azure Advanced Discovery

  • D42-45442 – AWS Route53 discovery now captures the zone type (Public/Private), preventing DNS record collisions
  • D42-45418 – Fixed incorrect storage array license mapping
  • D42-44657 – Fixed an issue where last login was updated for all apps in G Suite discovery
  • D42-39615 – Fixed an issue where duplicate devices were created when the device name in OneView differed from the name captured by a direct scan

API and integration enhancements

  • D42-60906 – Published the OpenAPI 3.0 specification in Swagger
  • D42-46568 – Standardized the backup and restore status in the /healthstats/ API to clearly indicate success or failure
  • D42-47704 – Added support for creating item relationships in ServiceNow using the API/DOQL import approach
  • D42-47521 – Fixed a 524 sync failure that could stop JSM Assets device syncs
  • D42-19679 – Fixed an issue where adding a PagerDuty alert integration returned a “choice is not valid” error

  • D42-48031 – Mismatch in device counts between CRE/RU Inventory reports and corresponding UI pages for Operating System data
  • D42-40349 – Generic Import Tool trims custom fields with ‘:’ character
  • D42-38249 – Users are not notified if they lack view permissions
  • D42-39359 – Enrichment services allow editing button mistakenly
  • D42-39404 – Improve performance when sorting and filtering with the ‘Location’ column
  • D42-39344 – Object Category field is visible on Power Units detail page when RBAC is disabled
  • D42-38512 – Spacing Issue on Hypervisor Discovery Page
  • D42-40799 – AWS Discovery may fail to collect subnet details for Elastic Load Balancer resources when more than 1 region is defined
  • D42-47262 – Rated Power not showing on banks
  • D42-45361 – The ‘Applies’ advanced filter is not displayed in the predefined report landing page
  • D42-44237 – In the AD/LDAP Sync page, the field name (Departments) and link name (Add Cost Center) don’t match
