Device42 Achieves AWS Migration and Modernization Competency Status

Achievement places Device42 in a select group of AWS Partners in the discovery and planning category

BOSTON, November 30, 2021Device42, a comprehensive agentless discovery and dependency mapping platform for hybrid IT, announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Migration and Modernization Competency status. This designation recognizes that Device42 has demonstrated significant technical proficiency.

AWS launched the AWS Migration and Modernization Competency to allow customers to easily and confidently engage highly specialized AWS Partners that help AWS customers modernize their applications, either before or after they are moved to AWS. The AWS Migration and Modernization Competency takes on the heavy lifting of identifying and validating industry leaders with proven customer success and technical proficiency in migration and application modernization tooling.

Achieving the AWS Migration and Modernization Competency differentiates Device42 as an AWS Partner with deep domain expertise delivering software products that help customers embrace cloud and application transformation, reducing licensing costs, optimizing operational costs, and improving performance, agility, and resiliency. These tools can perform an application portfolio assessment, identifying the applications that are candidates for modernization; augment and automate developer tasks to carry out the modernization of legacy applications.

“Device42 is proud to be one of the first AWS Partners to achieve the new AWS Migration and Modernization Competency status,” said Raj Jalan, Founder and CEO of Device42. “Our extremely successful partnership with AWS continues to benefit our partners and customers as they migrate and modernize with the extensive discovery, insights, and intelligence provided by Device42 technology.”

“Today we are in the position to offer a complete portfolio of solutions to migrate any workload to AWS using any migration strategy,” said Bill Platt, General Manager, AWS Migration Services. “Customers and partners can confidently use solutions validated by AWS to undertake migration and modernization journey at scale.”

AWS enables scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.

Device42 provides a single source of truth across complex IT enterprises including physical, virtual, cloud, and storage. It discovers network switches, bare metal servers, chassis and blades, hypervisors, IT subnets and more. Device42 is integrated with native AWS solutions such as Migration Evaluator (formerly TSO Logic), CloudEndure and AWS Migration Hub. It’s capable of mapping deep application dependencies, providing unmatched visibility into interconnected affinity groups and business applications to create and accurately prioritize move groups. Device42’s resource utilization and Cloud Recommendation Engine features help customers choose the right-sized AWS instance to save money.

LeasePlan, one of the world’s leading fleet management and leasing companies, was two months into the process of migrating six of its data centers and more than 200 applications on AWS. With Device42, they significantly accelerated their move

“We found missing parts of applications that we didn’t originally consider in the migration,” explains Kamin Ganji, Infrastructure Architect at LeasePlan. “We’ve now targeted this entire project to take five to six months. Without Device42, it would have taken at least two years.”
